The Customers

To better understand who Bold Reuse’s main customers are, I conducted surveys directly with their users with the help of my coworkers and venue walk-throughs . By asking customers about their background, why they chose Bold Reuse, and how they engaged with the service, I was able to identify patterns in behavior and needs. From this information, I developed two main user personas that represent Bold Reuse’s core audience.

Emily - Sustainability Officer (Sports Venue)

Background:

Emily is 35 and manages sustainability programs at a major sports stadium in Seattle. She balances environmental goals with guest experience, working closely with operations and vendor teams.

Motivation:

Reduce waste without compromising the fan experience; sustainability is part of her professional mission.

Goals:

  • Implement large-scale reusable solutions for stadium events.

  • Understand operational logistics (collection, washing, storage).

  • See proof of success from similar sports venues.

Quote:

“I need a system that works for thousands of attendees and truly cuts down on waste—like in our club sections, where fans get free branded cups they can reuse instead of piling up disposables.”

User Journey:

Emily researches providers, reviews case studies from other stadiums, checks logistics feasibility, then coordinates with Bold Reuse to implement branded reusable cups at events.

Alex Rivera – Concert & Festival Event Manager

Background:

Alex is 29 and manages large-scale music events. He focuses on attendee satisfaction and operational efficiency, ensuring events run smoothly while incorporating sustainable practices.

Motivation:

Enhance event experience and brand image by adopting visible, sustainable initiatives.

Goals:

  • Provide branded reusable cups for concerts and festivals.

  • Easily track usage and returns to measure impact.

  • Show event organizers and stakeholders tangible benefits.

Quote:

“If fans can use the same cup throughout the event instead of tossing out disposables, that means less waste and a cleaner venue.”

User Journey:

Alex compares vendors, contacts Bold Reuse for process walkthroughs, pilots a small-scale program, monitors attendee feedback, then scales up to full events.

In a startup environment, pages that aren’t responsive or user-friendly make it difficult to acquire new leads. This redesign demonstrated that prioritizing usability and accessibility can produce outcomes beyond initial expectations.

Design System

The design system is based on the company’s brand kit and existing graphics, using components consistently across the site for a cohesive look. The UI focuses on core functionality and prototyping, with most components used throughout the pages either directly or as adapted versions, allowing room for future refinement in typography and color for an enhanced user experience.

Final Product

For the final product, I applied the company’s full brand color palette to ensure consistency and recognition throughout the site. Embracing the brand’s preference for roundness, all buttons and the header section feature rounded elements, creating a friendly and approachable feel. The design is fully responsive, providing an optimal experience across all devices.
