Let's Get Social

As my first major project , I felt incredibly nervous about tackling the given tasks. However, collaborating with my classmates was an incredible experience that taught me to be more confident in my design abilities and in myself. Working together, we created an app that not only aligned with my personal values but also met the educational objectives of the course. This project helped me understand the importance of user-centered design and how to effectively incorporate feedback. Overall, it was a rewarding experience that enhanced my skills and reinforced the value of teamwork and clear communication.

Low Fidility

For the low-fidelity wireframes of Adotify, we focused on mapping out the core structure and navigation, ensuring users could intuitively move between key features like the adoption timeline, FAQ hub, and in-app store. The low-fi sketches prioritized layout simplicity, providing a clear foundation for testing usability and refining content placement.

User Flow

Creating a user flow was essential to guide our design of each frame, ensuring that every screen addressed key user needs—such as tracking adoption steps, providing a comprehensive FAQ section, and enabling convenient ordering of pet essentials. Since no existing app fully combines these features, it was crucial to construct a thoughtful flow to define the ideal layout and user experience.

User insights revealed several key needs for Adoptify:

  • Clear Timeline: Users wanted a timeline feature to easily track pet milestones and adoption steps, helping them stay organized and informed.

  • Comprehensive Inquiry Hub: Adopters preferred access to a hub with videos and explanations to address common questions, ensuring they feel well-prepared and knowledgeable.

  • Convenient Ordering: Many users expressed interest in a one-stop shop within the app to order pet essentials like food and toys, making it easier to care for their new pet with fewer steps.

Adoptify is a supportive mobile app designed to guide potential and new pet adopters through every stage of responsible pet ownership, focusing on addressing the challenges of urban pet adoption and reducing the number of abandoned animals. By offering a centralized platform, Adoptify helps users connect with shelters, find resources, and receive guidance for post-adoption care, encouraging long-term commitment to pet welfare.

I was tasked with designing the sign-in, profile, and settings pages for Adoptify, ensuring they were user-friendly and aligned with the app’s mission of supporting responsible pet ownership. Additionally, I contributed by creating the lo-fi wireframe for the homepage, setting the foundation for an intuitive and engaging user experience from the very first interaction.
